Drink Driver At Shea-Oak Log

Police intercepted a high range drink driver at Shea-Oak Log overnight.

Police initially received several calls that a vehicle was travelling on the incorrect side of the Sturt Highway at Shea-Oak Log at 4am on Thursday 3 September.

Patrols responded and located the vehicle which was, by this time, travelling on the correct side of the road.

The driver, a 42-year-old Queenstown man, recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.242 – nearly five times the legal limit.

He was reported for drink driving and issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence.

His vehicle was impounded for 28 days, and he will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.

Police would like to thank the members of the public who rang police and likely prevented a fatal crash.
