Drink driver charged after crashes with passenger in boot in Gymea

A man allegedly driving with four passengers, including one in the boot, has been charged with drink driving after crashing into five parked cars in Sydney’s south early this morning.

About 3.10am (Saturday 2 March 2019), a late model Ford Mustang was travelling on Milburn Road, Gymea, when it hit two parked vehicles and continued driving.

A short time later, a third parked car was struck, before the Ford mounted the kerb and drove through the front garden of a home, hitting two vehicles and a trailer parked in the driveway.

The Ford stopped when it hit a power pole.

Police from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended and breath tested the driver, a 22-year-old man, which returned a positive roadside result.

Four passengers, including a man in the boot, were all uninjured.

The man was taken to Sutherland Police Station where he returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.128.

He was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive with middle range PCA and will be issued with a notice for driver drive motor vehicle with person in/on boot.

The Punchbowl man is due to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday 28 March 2019.
