Driver blows six times limit

Police have recorded a man allegedly driving at more than six times the legal limit.

Horsham police intercepted a Holden SUV after observing it driving erratically on Baillie Road about 1.30am, 5 April.

The 37-year-old South Australian male driver allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.313 in an evidentiary breath test.

It will further be alleged his driver’s licence was disqualified at the time of the incident.

He will face court on summons at a later date.

Whilst committing the offences, the driver and two passengers were also found to be in breach of the directions issued by the Chief Health Officer and were issued a $1652 penalty notice.

The directions by the Chief Health Officer, under the State of Emergency declared in Victoria, have been enacted to help stop the spread of Coronavirus.
