Driver critically injured in single vehicle crash, NSW

A man is in a critical condition after a single vehicle crash in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

About 6.35pm yesterday (Sunday 3 July 2022), emergency services responded to reports that a car had crashed into a pole at the intersection of Hume Highway and Cann Street, Bass Hill.

The driver and sole occupant – a 19-year-old man from Bankstown – was trapped in the vehicle for about 20 minutes until released by Fire and Rescue NSW.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
