Driver dies after crash at Lonsdale, South Australia

Major Crash officers are investigating after the death of a woman following a collision at Lonsdale earlier this week.

About 9.30am on Wednesday 29 September, police and emergency services were called to Dyson Road, Lonsdale after reports a car had collided with a light pole.

The driver and sole occupant of the Toyota Corolla sedan, a 91-year-old Seacombe Heights woman, was taken to the Flinders Medical Centre. Sadly, she died yesterday (Friday 1 October).

Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating the cause of the collision and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

The woman’s death is the 73rd life lost on South Australian roads so far this year. The number of lives lost at the same time last year was 64.
