Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged two men and seized $1.25 million worth of methylamphetamine, three firearms and discovered a clandestine laboratory in Sydney’s south west.
Strike Force Polmont was established by State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations and Diversion Team to investigate the activities of a criminal syndicate believed to be involved in the manufacture and supply of prohibited drugs across Sydney.
In September 2026, strike force detectives commenced inquiries into a 39-year-old man’s alleged involvement in manufacturing prohibited drugs in Prestons.
Following inquiries, about 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 1 October 2026) strike force detectives stopped and searched a 39-year-old man in Lidcombe.
Officers allegedly located of 9g of methylamphetamine in his possession.
He was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station.
As inquiries continued, about 5.20pm yesterday, strike force detectives – with assistance from Public Order and Riot Squad – executed a search warrant in Prestons.
During a search of the property, police allegedly located an active clandestine drug lab, 8.4kg of methylamphetamine, two airsoft pistols and a bolt action rifle.
The potential street value of the methylamphetamine is estimated to be $1.25 million.
A 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity and found on/entering/leaving drug premises.
He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 2 October 2026).
About 6.40pm yesterday, strike force detectives – with assistance from Public Order and Riot Squad – executed a search warrant in Lidcombe.
During the search, police allegedly located 150g of methylamphetamine, cannabis and a bag containing a knife, handcuffs, masks, cloves, torch and a laser pointer.
The 39-year-old man was charged with manufacture prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity and supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity.
He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
