Drug and Firearms Squad detectives have charged four people after seizing a premade industrial kitchen filled with restricted drugs in Sydney’s west last year.
In May 2025, State Crime Command’s Drug and Firearms Squad Chemical Operations Team commenced Strike Force Elabbin to investigate the supply of pseudoephedrine and manufacture of prohibited drugs in Sydney’s west.
As part of investigations, strike force detectives – with assistance from State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad and Public Order and Riot Squad officers – executed a search warrant at a home on Marcia Street, Toongabbie, on Tuesday 16 December 2025.
During the search, detectives located and seized a dismantled industrial kitchen believed to have contained a large amount of pseudoephedrine.
Following the search, strike force detectives stopped a car nearby where they located and seized 33.87kg of pseudoephedrine in the vehicle.
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $1 million.
Three men – aged 43, 48 and 38 – were arrested during the searches and taken to Blacktown Police Station where they were charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
All three were refused bail and appeared before Blacktown Local Court on Wednesday 17 December 2025. They all remain before the courts.
Following further extensive investigations, strike force detectives arrested a 36-year-old man at a home on Mackenzie Boulevard, Seven Hills, about 8am yesterday (Wednesday 1 July 2026).
He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial quantity and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.
Police will allege in court the group are a part of an organised syndicate importing restricted drugs from a south Asian nation to distribute in Australia.
The 36-year-old was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Local Court 8 today (Thursday 2 July 2026), where he was further refused court to appear before Penrith Local Court on Friday 28 August 2026.
