Drug charges at Mount Isa

Mount Isa police have charged a man will multiple drug offences following a search warrant at a Sunset address last week.

Around 6.45am on Thursday, June 22, police conducted a search warrant and will allege the man was in possession of four different dangerous drugs, more than $18,000 in cash, and a variety of watches and gel blasters.

Police Dog Hope performed some great detection work locating concealed items.

The 38-year-old man from Sunset was charged with five counts of possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of possessing drug utensils and one count of possessing property suspected of being proceeds of an offence. He was refused bail and is due to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court today, June 26.

If anyone has any information at all in relation to the use, supply or trafficking of methylamphetamine in the community, police urge them to report the matter to Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. It doesn’t matter how small or insignificant you believe the information to be, that information may be the piece of the puzzle police need to identify and dismantle drug offending.

Police encourage anyone in our community who is suffering from drug dependence to seek support from Queensland Health’s Alcohol and Drug Information Service.
