Drug production charges in Carrara, QLD

Police uncovered a sophisticated underground cannabis crop in Carrara yesterday morning.

Detectives from the Gold Coast Child Protection and Investigation Unit executed a search warrant at Marrantin Court and located a substantial hydroponic cannabis setup in an underground room.

Over 100 mature cannabis plants were seized along with other drugs including GHB and DMT and drug paraphernalia.

A 38-year-old Carrara woman has been charged with producing dangerous drugs, possession of cannabis exceeding schedule, possession of GHB, possession of DMT, possession of drug utensils and possession of things used in connection with the commission of a crime.

The woman was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
