Drug seizure at Adelaide Airport

Two people have been arrested after the discovery of nearly 50kgs of dried cannabis.

At 2.30pm on Tuesday 3 September, detectives from Serious Crime task Force attended the Adelaide Airport with a drug detection dog Ziggy.

Following a detection on two passengers from NSW, police searched two suitcases allegedly locating over 13kgs of dried cannabis.

A search of two homes in Cheltenham and Kurralta Park led to the seizure of a further 36 kgs of dried cannabis and over $6000 cash.

A 27-year-old man from Cheltenham and a 26-year-old woman from NSW were arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking a large commercial quantity of drugs.

They have been refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
