Drugs and gun found at Salisbury East, South Australia

A man has been arrested after a search uncovered methamphetamine, a sawn-off rifle and a suspected stolen motorcycle.

Police will allege that just before 9am on Saturday, 24 November, police acting on information received searched a house at Salisbury East.

When police entered the house, a man ran out the back door, throwing items that he was carrying into the house.

The items were later found to be containers of methamphetamine, with nearly four ounces seized. A search warrant was utilised and other drug paraphernalia was located in the house, including glass pipes, scent-proof pouches, plastic tubs, bags, scales, and a large amount of cash.

Police also located a sawn-off .22 rifle and ammunition, and a motorcycle was seized from the scene which contained no compliance or VIN plates and had a home-made number plate. Enquiries continue regarding the ownership of the firearm and motorcycle.

A 55-year-old Salisbury East man was charged with trafficking a controlled drug and other drug offences. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
