Drugs and weapons located during St Kilda intercept

Two men have been arrested in St Kilda after drugs and weapons were located in their vehicle yesterday (28 February).

Police spotted an allegedly stolen car on Carlisle Street about 4.40pm.

The car came to a stop in traffic on Fitzroy Street, where police intercepted it.

Police searched the vehicle and allegedly located a shotgun, drugs and paraphernalia, along with knives, ammunition and knuckledusters.

A 24-year-old Mount Waverley man and a 25-year-old Moorabbin man were arrested at the scene without incident.

They have since been charged with theft of motor vehicle, as well as firearms, drug and weapons-related offences.

Both have been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
