A man and woman have been arrested for drug trafficking and money laundering offences following coordinated searches in Adelaide’s western suburbs that resulted in the seizure of illicit drugs, cash and a motor vehicle.
Just after 7.30am on Wednesday 9 September, investigators from the Crime Gangs Task Force executed multiple search warrants across the western suburbs of Adelaide.
Police will allege that a 31-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both from Woodville Gardens, were found in possession of 845 grams of methamphetamine, 71 grams of cocaine, and $40,000 in cash.
The pair were arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled drug and money laundering. Police also seized a motor vehicle in connection with the offending under the Criminal Assets Confiscations Act 2005.
They were bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on 21 October.
Detective Chief Inspector Christie Matthews, Officer in Charge of the Crime Gangs Task Force, said, “The seizure of more than 800 grams of methamphetamine, cocaine and a substantial amount of cash demonstrates the commitment of investigators to targeting those involved in the trafficking of illicit drugs and disrupting criminal networks”.
