Drugs seized in vehicle stop, man charged, NSW

A man will face court today charged after police seized more than 7kg of drugs during a vehicle stop in the state’s south.

About 11.50am yesterday (Tuesday 29 October 2019), police observed a white sedan allegedly driving erratically on the Hume Highway near Yass.

Police stopped the vehicle at the intersection of the Hume Highway and Whitefields Road, Bookham.

Following inquiries into the man and the vehicle he was travelling in, police conducted a search of the vehicle.

Officers allegedly located a large storage bag in the boot of the vehicle, containing 16 vacuum sealed bags filled with 7.2kg of cannabis.

A 50-year-old Victorian man was arrested and taken to Yass Police Station, where he was charged with possess prohibited drug and drug supply.

The man was refused bail and is due to face Goulburn Local Court today (Wednesday 30 October 2019).
