Drummoyne and Cabarita pools to reopen

The City of Canada Bay is delighted to announce that Cabarita and Drummoyne swimming centres will reopen on Monday, 27 September 2021.

“I would like to welcome back our regular patrons and residents who have been eagerly awaiting the reopening of our pools at Drummoyne and Cabarita,” City of Canada Bay Mayor Angelo Tsirekas said.

“Earlier this month I wrote to the State Minister for Health asking that consideration be given to including outdoor swimming pools in the public health order. I am extremely pleased that this decision has been made and our community can now access these facilities.”

“For local families, the last few months have been hard and I know that parents from across our area will be thrilled that our pools are open for the second week of the school holidays.”

Drummoyne and Cabarita swimming centres will be implementing stringent COVID safety plans guided by NSW Public Health Orders.

Pool operations will be different to usual, with likely limits to patronage and the possibility of some closures of regular facilities.

Full details regarding the opening and operation of the swimming centres will be announced on the City of Canada Bay, Cabarita and Drummoyne Swimming Centre websites and social media channels this week.

“We have worked hard to upgrade and improve these facilities during the winter season and I hope residents take advantage of our beautiful outdoor riverside pools as we begin to emerge from lockdown.”
