Early Father’s Day Present

A 20-year-old man has a lot of making up to do ahead of Father’s Day this weekend after allegedly crashing a car and blowing over the limit in Dromana last night.

Emergency services were called to reports a Ford Fiesta had crashed into a tree on Nepean Highway about 11.15pm.

Upon arrival, police found the mangled car to be unoccupied and will allege the crash had occurred earlier that evening.

Officers attended the address of the registered owner and spoke with a 20-year-old Safety Beach man who allegedly made full admissions he was the driver involved before heading home to have a shower.

Incredibly, the man did not sustain any serious injuries and was transported to hospital for assessment.

The man underwent a breath test, returning an alleged reading of .07.

He is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and traffic offences and his license will be disqualified for a period of six months.

The car, believed to belong to the driver’s father, was a write off.
