The City of Swan has awarded a $317,000 earthworks tender for the Ellenbrook recreation and aquatic facility project to local WA contractor, Tracc Civil.

The contract includes forward works, bulk earthworks, excavation and site clearing to the 2-hectare site with work set to commence next week.

City of Swan Deputy Mayor David Lucas said he was pleased to see work on one of the City’s key advocacy priorities commence.

“The new indoor recreation and aquatic facility is one of the largest investments in capital expenditure undertaken within the City,” Cr Lucas said.

“We are excited to deliver on this long-awaited project that will serve and enrich the lives of more than 70,000 residents by 2036.”

Once completed, the facility will integrate aquatic, sport, health and wellbeing elements under one roof, cater to people and groups of all ages and abilities, and reduce the need to drive 30 minutes to the nearest indoor facility.
