East Perth traffic crash

Traffic Enforcement Group officers are investigating a crash that occurred at the end of the Graham Farmer Freeway tunnel in East Perth around 11.40pm last night, Sunday 16 August 2020.

A black 2008 model BMW coupe was travelling east on the freeway and as it exited the tunnel near the East Parade exit the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle struck and sheared off three power poles and damaged a further pole attached to the top of the concrete barrier separating the east and west bound lanes before catching alight.

It is believed the black BMW coupe was travelling with another vehicle. This vehicle stopped at the crash site and extracted the driver of the coupe before driving away.

Investigators wish to speak to anyone who saw the crash or the BMW travelling in the area prior to the crash. Anyone with information regarding this crash are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
