East Victoria Park Stealing Incidents

Kensington Police are seeking information regarding three stealing incidents at a shopping centre in East Victoria Park which occurred yesterday, Saturday 6 August 2022.
Incident 1
About 1:15pm a 45-year-old woman was at a store inside the shopping centre on Albany Highway and was browsing items away from her trolley, which contained her handbag. As she turned back towards her trolley she saw a woman holding her purse.
The offender dropped the purse and fled the scene to a silver Holden Commodore (Berlina) sedan which was parked in a nearby car park. Several members of the public were in the area and it is believed some may have taken a photo or vision of the offender. Those people are asked to come forward and contact Kensington Police via Crime Stoppers.
Incident 2
About 2:00pm an 85-year-old woman was at the same shopping centre and returned to her vehicle with her shopping. Her vehicle was located in an ACROD ‘disability parking bay’ at the northern end of the shopping centre. The woman had loaded her shopping and handbag into the vehicle’s boot when two unknown women approached the vehicle and one of them stole the handbag.
Incident 3
About 4:45pm a woman aged in her 30’s had been shopping at the same shopping centre and after loading her vehicle and leaving she realised she no longer had her purse. She returned to the scene but could not locate the purse in any trolleys. Since then the woman’s debit card has been used twice at a nearby bottle shop.
Kensington Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding all three incidents. Anyone with information, dash-cam or mobile phone vision relating to these incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
