The Australian Republic Movement has wished all Australians a happy and safe Easter.
National Director and CEO Isaac Jeffrey said: “Easter is a time for family, for joy, for friendship and for celebration. It’s also a time for reflection and renewal.
“The Australian Republic Movement is a non-partisan and non-denominational organisation welcoming to all Australians. Our members and supporters come from all walks of life and all religions. We come together to celebrate and champion the people, places and points which weave us all together as Australians.
“We embrace reflection to appreciate all of the things which have made Australia such an incredible country, to learn from history and to value the foundations which have been laid for our democracy. And we advocate for renewal to build on these foundations, to strengthen what we already have and to provide a better future for our children and grandchildren.
“Regardless of how you spend this weekend and whether you celebrate the life of Jesus or not, we wish you a happy and safe Easter. Enjoy time with family and friends, and please stay safe on our roads.
