Eastern Suburb pursuit

A man was arrested after a brief pursuit in the eastern suburbs last night.

About 9.40pm Sunday 17 September police spotted a black Holden Cruze parked at a service station in Marryatville, checks revealed the car was unregistered. When police attempted to speak to the driver he jumped in his car and drove off.

Police activated their emergency lights and pursued the Holden sedan through the back streets of Marryatville, calling for the assistance of PolAir.

PolAir was quickly overhead and took over the chase following the car from the air as it travelled though Kensington and Beulah Park, before it looped back around stopping at the south end of Hackett Terrace, Marryatville. Here the driver got out and walked away from the vehicle.

Patrols quickly attended the street and arrest the driver, a 23-year-old Campbelltown man. Checks on him revealed his driver’s licence is currently disqualified.

He has been charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, driving unregistered, uninsured and driving disqualified. He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
