Council noted the completion of execution of the Economic and Community Recovery Plans, which supported local businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, at Tuesday night’s Council meeting.

In November 2020 Council adopted the Economic Recovery Plan 2020 in response to the pandemic.

The Plan addressed some of the immediate issues to ensure the longer term vibrancy and viability of businesses in the Willoughby Local Government Area.

Willoughby Council set up a Business Forum to bring together key businesses to focus on the Plan. The forum will continue to provide input into Council’s response to the local business community.

Council also instigated a number of measures during the pandemic to increase the activity within the Chatswood CBD to encourage the community to return to the retail and commercial centre. This included extending the Mall Market operating days and subsidising fees.
