Liverpool City Council has responded to claims by the Member for Leppington, Nathan Hegarty MP, that a major upgrade to Edmondson Avenue in Austral is needlessly delayed.
In a letter from the Council’s Acting CEO Jason Breton, it was explained that – despite a $50 million funding shortfall in State Government funding – the Council would start the full project and seek the balance of the funding required for its completion.
The Council thanks Mr Hegarty for raising the matter and asks him to advocate on Council’s behalf to secure the additional funding.
