Eight unregistered motorbikes impounded – Tallarook State Forest

Victoria Police’s State Highway Patrol Solo Unit officers have impounded eight unregistered motorbikes that were being ridden in the Tallarook State Forest this weekend.

Officers were patrolling the forest when they discovered the eight motorbikes being ridden on Freeman Road about 11am on Sunday, 8 May.

All eight motorbikes were unregistered and all eight riders were unlicensed.

The motorbikes were all impounded for a period of 30 days and each rider was summonsed to face court at a later date.

• A 19-year-old Wallan man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding and using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration

• A 21-year-old Craigieburn man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle and using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration

• A 21-year-old Greenvale man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle and using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration

• An 18-year-old Broadmeadows man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle and using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration

• An 18-year-old Hadfield man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle and using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration

• A 21-year-old Hadfield man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle, using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration and passenger failing to wear an approved helmet

• An 18-year-old Broadmeadows man was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle, using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration and rider failing to wear an approved helmet

• A 16-year-old Glenroy boy was summonsed to court for unlicensed riding, use unregistered vehicle and using a vehicle not complying with standards of registration

This intercept forms part of the State Highway Patrol Solo Unit’s Operation ATME (All Terrain Motorcycle Enforcement) which focuses on motorcycle and four-wheel-drive licence, registration, impairment and safety compliance.
