An elderly man has been charged with a historical sexual assault offence in the state’s Mid North Coast region.
Following a report in January 2019, officers attached to Oxley Police District commenced an investigation into the matter which allegedly occurred in the 1980s.
About 10am today (Tuesday 13 August 2019), a 73-year-old man attended Kempsey Police Station where he was arrested and charged with sexual assault – assault and commit act of indecency.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Tamworth Local Court Monday 26 August 2019.
