Elderly man robbed of sentimental jewellery at Orange, NSW

Investigations are continuing after a quantity of jewellery was stolen during an aggravated robbery in the state’s Central West region.

About 5.30pm yesterday (Sunday 22 September 2019), an elderly man returned to his home on Warrendine Street at Orange when he was confronted by an unknown man in his living room.

The man threatened the elderly man and demanded his wallet.

The man exited the home before returning and demanding the resident’s car keys.

The man left again with the keys which were later found on the front lawn.

Officers attached to Central West Police District attended the home and established a crime scene.

A quantity of jewellery of particular sentimental value was reported stolen, along with a small amount of cash.

Police wish to speak with the man described as being of Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander appearance, a large build, 175cm, olive complexion, dark hair and was last seen wearing a dark grey/ blue baseball cap, dark top and dark trousers.
