Election advocacy hits home stretch

City of Port Phillip
With under 100 days until we cast our votes in the Victorian Election, our Council is ramping up its advocacy for our community.

This included holding the pre-election Metropolitan Transport Forum (MTF) at the St Kilda Town Hall recently for panel members from the three major parties to pitch their transport visions for our City.

The forum, which included a Q&A session, attracted more than 100 participants online and in person. If you couldn’t make it you can watch the forum below. Questions from the floor included separated bike lanes, accessibility on public transport, the proposed Green Line corridor and public transport in Fishermans Bend.

Transport, Mobility and Safety is just one of the six priorities we have identified as important for our community. In fact, these priorities reflect community input into our Council Plan and a range of important Council strategies.

The other priorities are:

– Early Education and Care

– Economic Recovery from COVID-19

– Public Spaces, Sports and Recreation

– Social and Affordable Housing

– Sustainability, Renewable Energy and Waste Management.
