Emergency crews responding to fatal house fire in Woodridge, QLD

The body of a man has been located as investigations continue following a fire at a house in Woodridge overnight.

Police and emergency services were called to Nyanza Street just after 12am where they found the house engulfed in fire.

The fire caused extensive damage to the house with the upper level and roof collapsing.

One of the two occupants was able to make it out safely, however a man was unaccounted for.

A short time ago, the body of a man was located during a search of the property.

A crime scene was declared as investigations continue to work to determine the cause of the fire.

The street has been closed, however is expected to be reopened late this afternoon.
