Emergency crews responding to house fire at Everard Park, South Australia

Police are investigating the cause of a fire at an abandoned house on Anzac Highway at Everard Park, early this morning.

Just after 4am, on Thursday 29 October, police and fire crews were called to a two storey house on Anzac Highway near the intersection of Grove Avenue, following reports of a house on fire.

On arrival, the abandoned art deco house was well engulfed in flame. Police patrols closed Anzac Highway to all traffic for both directions, while several fire appliances battled the blaze bringing it under control.

City bound lanes on Anzac Highway is now open but, south bound traffic towards Glenelg is still restricted with only one lane open, so expected delays.

Fire Cause Investigators will be attending this morning, with the fire currently being treated as suspicious.
