Emergency declaration revoked at Main Beach, QLD

Police have revoked an emergency situation declared at Main Beach on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

The emergency situation was declared at 2:35pm, under the provisions of the Public Safety Preservation Act, due to a large grass fire burning in the area.

The emergency situation was revoked at 4:16pm and roads reopened to traffic.

Police are currently manually directing traffic at the intersection of the Gold Coast Highway and Waterways Drive.
