As part of the Victorian Government’s Outdoor Eating and Entertainment Package, we are assisting businesses to access more space for outdoor dining on footpaths, private land (like courtyards) and some public spaces (like parks and civic squares)..
An information pack outlining the simplified steps businesses can take to access these spaces has been developed, and Council case managers are on standby to guide businesses through the process.
Council permit applications are being fast tracked and all permit fees will be waived until 31 March 2021 to help businesses plan ahead for the Victorian Government’s reopening goal of 26 October.
Suitable locations for alternative outdoor dining spaces in areas like car parking bays and vehicle laneways are also being identified as part of this initiative.
Outdoor dining is central to encouraging foot traffic back into our local shopping strips for the benefit of all Boroondara businesses and our community.
