Energy Bill Relief reaches more families and households this Christmas

The NSW Government is expanding energy support payments to more households to help ease cost of living pressures during the festive season.

Carer Allowance recipients, Low Income Health Card holders and Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card holders in embedded networks are now all able to apply for a National Energy Bill Relief payment

The rebate provides up to $500 towards electricity bills over the 2023–24 financial year.

Applications for these newly eligible people and households have opened 6 weeks ahead of schedule, providing more support, faster, to ease financial pressures in the lead up to Christmas.

The National Energy Bill Relief Plan is co-funded by the New South Wales and Australian Governments and is worth a total of $966 million.
