The power of generating ideas and creating the Youth Week program is now in the hands of Isaac’s young people aged 12 to 25.
An expression of interest has been released by Isaac Regional Council to encourage youth to collaborate, be empowered and share their skills and talent.
Mayor Anne Baker said Council strongly and genuinely believes in the creative power of Isaac’s local youth.
“Youth Week is an event for our youth and who better to help shape the creative activities and events for the region?” Mayor Baker said.
“We are calling young crafters, creators, tinkers and big thinkers who would be interested in helping us build a Youth Week program for 2021.
“Those interested will have the chance to build their resume and expand their skill sets by providing art works for gallery displays, performing at events or running art/creative/manual skills workshops for other young people.
“Or have the chance to learn how you can turn your creative passion into a sustainable business career plus assist with event planning and logistics.
“Your work will be recognised with a letter outlining your participation efforts for you to keep and add to your resume.”
Isaac’s very own version of Queensland Youth Week – a free initiative – is being launched in April next year. Expressions of interest, which end on 20 November, are being encouraged through Council’s new online engagement platform at speakup.isaac.qld.gov.au or call 1300 ISAACS.
