You’re invited to view and provide feedback on the draft Emil Madsen Reserve Master Plan.

The draft Master Plan was prepared by Simon Leisure Consulting and Land Design Partnership in consultation with the Emil Madsen Reserve user groups. The Plan aims to achieve:

  • fit for purpose sporting facilities
  • improved traffic management
  • increased opportunities for physical activity
  • improved landscape within the reserve.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor and Briars Ward Councillor Sam Hearn said, “in general, the condition and quality of the sports fields at the reserve are very good, however certain facilities that support the large number of clubs based at the reserve, such as the pavilions, cricket nets and netball courts, require upgrading or repositioning”.

Briars Ward Councillor Rosie Clark said, “it’s great to see this project evolve into something that will benefit all user groups, thanks to the sporting clubs’ involvement”.

Briars Ward Councillor Bev Colomb said, “thank you to all the sporting groups for working with us on a vision for the site that will serve the community for years to come and improve safety and access”.

Community consultation is an integral part of the Master Plan and Council encourages the community to submit their comments on the draft Plan and associated report.

Following the public exhibition period, the feedback received will be consolidated and where appropriate incorporated into the Master Plan and associated report and presented to Council for adoption.

HOW TO HAVE YOUR SAY

Community consultation opens Wednesday 1 July 2020 and closes 5pm Sunday 2 August 2020.
