Entries now open for Victoria’s top science awards

Applications for two of the state’s most prestigious science and innovation awards – the Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation and the Victoria Fellowships – are now open.

The Victoria Prize and Victoria Fellowships celebrate our top scientists as well as early-career researchers and provide real support for their important work.

The Victoria Prize for Science and Innovation is awarded to outstanding scientists who have significantly advanced knowledge in their field. Two grants of $50,000, one for physical sciences and one for life sciences, fund research and development conducted in Victoria.

The Victoria Prize acknowledges exceptional leadership, determination and creativity, as well as highlighting the internationally-significant R&D being conducted in Victoria.

On offer are 12 Victoria Fellowships of up to $18,000 for early-career researchers to support a short-term overseas study mission.

Study missions to France are also eligible for the Australian French Association for Science and Technology (AFAS) Associate Award, valued up to $3,500.

Study missions are a vital boost for early-career researchers, helping them to access specialist training, commercialise an idea or undertake career development not offered in Australia.

Victoria Prize recipients and Victoria Fellows will be announced at a ceremony later in the year.
