Environmental Volunteers March Update

Port Stephen

The enticing planting weather of autumn is on its way! Despite the scorching heat of summer, environmental volunteers across the community were unwavering in caring for their sites.

Other volunteers have been patiently working with PSC’s Environmental Management team to bring action plans to life and prepare for the future. We can now reflect on some progress and ideas to take us into the cooler months.

Action Plan updates

These plans mark a new chapter for our environmental volunteers, creating solid documents that outline group goals, obtain required approvals and form a baseline for future progress. We heard feedback that our volunteer community wanted better record management and the plans are a step towards this. Publicly accessible, plans are the Curriculum Vitae for groups to showcase their work so far and their goals for the future!

Currently we have completed and published the plans for:

  • Karuah Landcare
  • Friends of Nyrang Reserve
  • Tilligerry Landcare
  • Mallabula Parks and Environment
  • Kent Guardians Landcare
  • Medowie Environmental Volunteers

In the pipeline we have:

  • Soldiers Point – Salamander Bay Landcare
  • Shoal Bay West Landcare
  • Conroy Park Coastcare
  • Ngioka Nursery
  • Fingal Bay – Barry Park Volunteers
  • Raymond Terrace Parks, Reserves and Tidy Towns
  • And the remainder of our incredible groups!
