Rapid Apprehension Squad detectives have charged a man in relation to an incident on Sunday, 22 October 2023, in which it is alleged he escaped from lawful custody in Mount Barker.
It will be alleged the man escaped lawful custody from Pardelup Prison Farm.
WA Police Force was notified and an operation commenced to locate the man.
Around 5:30pm yesterday, Monday 23 October 2023, the accused was arrested in Kendenup, near Mount Barker.
The 42-year-old man has been charged with one count of ‘Escaping from Lawful custody’. He was refused bail and is due to appear in Albany Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 24 October 2023.
