Police have located and arrested Matthew Curic who escaped custody from Seymour Police Station this afternoon.
Curic was located by police near the Tallarook Railway Station about 6.50pm.
It is alleged the man assaulted a male police officer before fleeing the station on foot.
The police officer was not seriously hurt as a result of the assault.
Victoria Police would like to thank members of the public and the media with their assistance in locating the offender.
