Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) crews are on scene and are continuing to monitor a vegetation fire burning within the Eurimbula Resource Reserve (Middle Island), Eurimbula. This fire is posing no threat to property at this time. QFES and QPWS are working to control the blaze and will do so over the course of the weekend. Daytripper’s who are located on the island may be affected by a smoke haze. People in the area are asked to close windows and doors and if suffering from a respiratory condition, keep medications close by. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
