To be held at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre on Friday 16 September, the free event incorporates the popular Positive Ageing Expo and provides seniors and carers with the chance to meet relevant service providers, businesses and community groups.

More than 40 stallholders will be part of the Positive Ageing Expo to provide information focused on seniors from 9.30am to 1pm.

Chris Lloyds with The Carruthers & Others Quartet will provide live entertainment from 10.30am to midday.

The popular seniors’ lunch has already been booked out.

Mayoress Claire Manning said the Senior Week Event was making a welcome return after being cancelled due to COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021.

“This is an immensely popular event, which provides a very important service to local seniors,” Mrs Manning said.

“I am very happy to see it back on the calendar and can’t wait to attend myself.
