Event funding opportunity through NSW Government

Parkes Shire

Parkes Shire Council has been advised of an allocation of $239,651 through the NSW Government’s Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Event Program. To help identify priority projects for funding, Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from community and sporting event organisers in Parkes Shire for the following types of eligible existing events or new events:

  • Community Markets and Bazaars
  • Festivals and Fairs
  • Sporting events (grassroots sporting games and local tournaments are ineligible)
  • Food and Leisure events
  • Recovery events
  • Community Classes and Workshops
  • Agricultural Field Days run by community organisations (agricultural shows ineligible)
  • Regional Racing Carnivals (e.g. horse or greyhound racing) run by community organisations
  • Touring events and Theatre Programs
  • Community public holiday celebrations (eg Australia Day or Anzac Day)

For existing events, you will be required to show how the funding will make the event larger and/or more accessible.

This funding will support between 7 – 10 events, with up to $17,000 available for each event. To view the Reconnecting Regional NSW – Community Events Program Guidelines click here.

Applications will be assessed against a criteria to ensure the funding is allocated to events across the Parkes Shire, and within the following categories:

  • Children 0-11
  • Youth 12-25
  • Seniors
  • Indigenous
  • Cultural
  • Arts
  • Health
  • Community Celebrations
