Everyone Belongs – Celebrating Cultural Diversity

The continuing message of Harmony Week is ‘Everybody Belongs’ that aims to encourage inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians and celebrate the richness that diversity brings to life in Australia.

It is an opportunity for all Australians to embrace our diversity and to share our unique experiences and backgrounds to bring better understanding and appreciation for what makes us who we.

Council has joined the Shoalhaven Harmony Week Planning Committee to organise a range of activities that our community can participate in as part of celebrating Harmony Week 2022.

These include multicultural movies, harmonising of a community market, guest speakers and craft at our libraries, as well as a Latin American Dance Party.

Mayor Amanda Findley said, “our cultural diversity is one of our greatest strengths. It is at the heart of who we are. An integrated multicultural Australia is an integral part of our Nation’s history and character.”

“Shoalhaven has a long history of embracing people from many cultures and recognises the richness of diversity it brings to the region. I encourage our community to come together and celebrate our wonderful cultural diversity during Harmony Week from 21 to 27 March 2022.”

“I look forward to seeing our community wear orange and join in the range of activities on offer, share videos and photos on social media,” Mayor Findley said.
