Experience the power of dance and music performed live together when Sydney Dance Company returns to the Pilbeam Theatre with its new full length work, Impermanence.

The show also features a powerful specially-commissioned musical score from Grammy Award winning composer Bryce Dessner, performed live on stage by the Australian String Quartet.

Rafael Bonachela’s Impermanence has been described by the Adelaide Advertiser as “arguably the single best piece created by and for an Australian dance company for many years.”

It is a visceral and thrilling full length work which contrasts beauty and devastation.

Composer Bryce Dessner is founder of American rock band The National and is known for his film scores for The Revenant and The Two Popes. His composition Impermanence was initially inspired by the tragedy of the Australian bush fires and the Notre-Dame fire in Paris.

Bryce Dessner’s music composition Impermanence is commissioned by the Australian String Quartet and Sydney Dance Company. This commission has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.

Impermanence is presented by Rockhampton Regional Council and is Part of the 2022 See It Live Theatre Season. It will be performed at the Pilbeam Theatre on Saturday 25 June at 7.30pm.
