Members of Baw Baw’s creative arts community are invited to submit an expression of interest for the creation and installation of public art pieces that will enhance two community spaces in Drouin.

The project will see Bellbird Park Recreation Reserve and the Drouin Senior Citizens Hall– two sites currently under restoration to ensure they meet current and future needs of the expanding community– beautified with public artworks.

Council is providing our talented arts community with the opportunity to have their artwork featured within these community spaces with the intention that the artworks will come to be recognised and landmarks and placemakers in the future.

The appointed artists will receive a combined budget of $60,000 for both projects, while shortlisted applicants will receive $1,000 to further develop their concept plans in preparation for the final presentation and interview process.

‘Inclusive’ is the theme for both public art pieces and it aims to complement the redevelopment works at each site which will improve facilities, enhance accessibility and benefit a greater portion of users within the Shire.
