Exhibit your work in the Maroochydore Library Artspace

Local artists looking for an opportunity to exhibit their work can now submit an application to hold an exhibition at the Maroochydore Library Artspace between May 2019 and April 2020.

Since opening in April last year, the hugely popular Maroochydore Library Artspace has seen many local artists exhibit their work, including Jan Strudwick, Tory Richards, Anna Christie and Lyndon Davis.

Located on level two at the Maroochydore Library, the Artspace provides an opportunity for established and emerging local artists to exhibit and sell their works outside of a traditional gallery setting.

Arts Portfolio Cr Rick Baberowski said it was crucial for our local artists to have a broad spectrum of opportunities to showcase their work to the community and visitors to the region.

“The Sunshine Coast Arts Plan has a number of goals designed to build the profile of local artists, grow arts audiences and facilitate access to affordable spaces for exhibiting and the Maroochydore Library Artspace contributes to all of these,” Cr Baberowski said.

“This busy library welcomes thousands of members and visitors each year, providing a significant potential exposure for the artist’s work.

“It’s also an important professional development opportunity for emerging or less experienced artists to work with council’s curatorial staff from Caloundra Regional Gallery.”
