Experience fantasy art at Logan libraries

Learn fantasy art techniques from
Logan-based artist, illustrator and author Aaron Pocock at Logan libraries these school holidays.

Logan children are invited to grab their pencils and pens and begin a journey into the world of fantasy art with Logan-based artist, illustrator and author Aaron Pocock.

The self-taught artist will host free workshops for children aged eight and over at Logan libraries during the April school holidays.

City Lifestyle and Community Committee Chairperson Councillor Steve Swenson said he wanted to encourage anyone with an interest in art to enrol in one of Aaron’s upcoming workshops.

“It is great to have such a fantastic artist living in the city willing to share his talent with local children,” Cr Swenson said.

“I’m sure the workshop participants will go home really inspired by what they learn.”

Art has been a lifelong passion for the English-born artist/illustrator.

It eventually became a day job for Aaron in 2007 after he had freelanced semi-professionally since 1991.

Aaron’s work has included children’s books, book covers, CD sleeves and packaging art.

He was also chosen in 2011 to illustrate the Australia Post commemorative stamp set Mythical Creatures.

Aaron’s artwork also appears on Logan City Council’s new library cards.
