Expression of Interest – Audit and Risk Commitee – Independent member

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for an independent vacancy on its Audit and Risk Committee from suitably qualified people with broad overall experience and knowledge base with governance and financial experience.

It is desirable that candidates have:

  • Expertise in financial management and risk;
  • Experience in public sector management;
  • Financial literacy
  • Strategic risk management

Council is particularly interested in candidates with finance and risk expertise and would also highly value IT and cyber security expertise.

The Audit and Risk Committee is a formally appointed Committee responsible to the Council. Its role is to report to Council and provide appropriate advice and recommendations on matters relative to its Audit and Risk Charter. The Committee is made up of five members including the Chair (an independent member), two Councillors and two other independent members.

The term of appointment will be for three years from the date of appointment by Council with the possibility of extension.
