Expression of Interest Process for curated projection program

The City of Greater Geelong is seeking applications from an experienced artist or creative team to produce its curated projection program.

The role includes developing projections and creative content for the City’s wider public art program and cultural events calendar from 2022 to 2024.

The successful artist or creative team will curate or create content for presentation across a variety of events, including ANZAC Day, Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week and Geelong’s renowned Christmas Festival.

The program currently uses three sites including City Hall (which can accommodate sound), the Barwon Water Headquarters and Shorts Place.

The City is aiming to present work with a high level of artistic integrity, featuring high quality creative contemporary art with a strong visual narrative, led by professional artists working in large format architectural projections.

The total budget per year for this project is $100,000 (+ GST) which includes a notional budget allocation of $30,000 (+GST) for the Christmas 2022 projection .

Submissions close at 5pm Friday 19 August 2022.

Artist/Team Selected & Notified Monday, 29 August 2022

Christmas Concept – presented & approved September 2022

Christmas Projection – commences Saturday, 12 November 2022.
