MSC Horizontal Logo

Do you live or work in Murrindindi Shire? Are you interested in Emergency Management? Murrindindi Shire Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from members of our community to join a Community Advisory Group to support our Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC).

The MEMPC is made up of key emergency agencies, including Victoria Police, CFA, SES, and Ambulance Victoria, health providers and key service groups, including Red Cross and VCC Emergency Ministries. The Committee meets to plan and discuss emergency management matters before, during and after emergency events.

The creation of a Community Advisory Group to support the MEMPC is a new initiative by Council. The Advisory Group will play a key role in developing how emergency messaging, planning and response and recovery occurs within the Shire. We’re interested in hearing from passionate and knowledgeable community members and getting valuable local input on emergency matters.

The Advisory Group will meet four times a year (online at this stage) and will discuss all matters relating to emergencies. Information and ideas from the Advisory Group will be fed directly to the MEMPC for consideration.
