In some cases, ASQA is empowered to approve transition periods longer than those detailed in Clauses 1.26 (a), (b) and (c) of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015.
In accordance with the Guidance for Providers – Learner Transition, ASQA considers transition requests, where it can be demonstrated that there would be genuine disadvantage to a cohort of learners, if such an extension was not approved.
ASQA has recently approved an extended transition period for following CHC qualification/skill sets-
- CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support
- CHCSS00097 Individual Support – Ageing Skill Set
- CHCSS00098 Individual Support – Disability Skill Set
The extended training, assessment and certification issuance period for this qualification and the two skill sets ends on 31 July 2024.
Providers may accept new commencements during the extended period on the condition that all students must either have completed and been issued with qualifications or statements of attainment, or transferred to another training program, by the new transition end date.
ASQA consulted with the VRQA and TAC WA for this extended transition request.
These qualifications will remain on providers scope of registration until the end of the approved extended transition period date.
